Roller Blinds

Roller Blinds
also known as Roller Shades

What is a Roller Blind ?

A roller blind is a flat fabric blind that retract onto a top aluminium tube. These give a simple, classic look that fits beautifully into a minimalist/open plan décor.

An extensive range of fabrics can be used on roller blinds, exquisite light filtering translucent fabrics, solid block out fabrics and ultra modern sunscreen fabrics that allow you to enjoy your view, whilst providing daytime privacy and protection for you and your furniture from harmful UV rays and giving great heat protection, which can reduce your cooling costs, saving you money.

Modern technology has made today’s roller blinds more dependable than ever. A continuous looped ball chain on the side of the blind is used to raise and lower the blind easily and more accurately than the old spring tensioned Holland Blind, a slight tug downwards and if you get it right the blind would raise out of the opening.

Roller Blinds with Spring Assist:

The idea of spring tension to assist a roller blind rise with less effort has been married with chain driven blinds and advances in aluminium tube enable these blinds to span up to 4.2 metres in a single blind (depending on the characteristics of individual fabric choice) and be lifted very easily, despite the weight of the fabric.

As well as very wide individual blinds roller blinds can now be linked. Depending on the situation up to three blinds can be linked to one chain control. Linked blinds operate as one large blind, you cannot raise them individually.

Roller blinds can be motorised. Ideal for difficult to reach blinds or when there are large numbers of blinds to raised and lowered or to help control the amount of heat entering your building with sun sensors and timers able to automate your blinds.

Blackout Blinds:

Roller blinds allow light to pass around the sides of the fabric (even when blockout fabric is used). Light gaps are most prominent when a blind is fitted in a window recess. Aluminium side channels attached to side of the opening and with a head box fix to the top of the opening can completely eliminate light gaps. This is fantastic news for people wanting to blacken home theatre rooms and for shift workers who want darkness to be able to better sleep through the daylight hours.
